Professional Expertise
David Jones, owner and broker at F.O. Bailey Real Estate, is a successful repeat entrepreneur, and one of Maine’s most veteran agents. A critical asset to the team, David brings over 45 years of diverse business and real estate experience to the firm.
David specializes in the purchases and sales of Maine’s premier commercial and residential properties. He is committed to helping business leaders, investors, and homeowners think through their Maine investment decisions, and provides his clients with a well-rounded perspective and strategic approach.
Prior to his time at F.O. Bailey Real Estate, David founded a commercial construction company that built everything from high-rise and low-rise buildings to apartment complexes and single-family homes. He also self-funded residential development projects and collaborated with government agencies on historical restorations in Maine. For each venture, David orchestrated the robust marketing and sales initiatives - strategies and tactics he continues to employ today.
Achievements and Activities
David Jones was lured to Maine in 1997 by an 8,000SF John Calvin Stevens’ colonial revival home. David and his family occupied the residence while conducting minor restorations. Simultaneously during this period, David purchased and restored several commercial buildings in Bingham, Maine in collaboration with The State of Maine Economic Development board. David authored the grant application which was federally funded, and he coordinated the distribution of the funds in a manner that permitted smaller businesses of Bingham to also update and remodel their business buildings. After restoring the main street buildings, David then launched and sold a restaurant business in one of the downtown buildings.
David also developed a large land parcel known today as Eagle's Trace, an adult retirement community. Separate from the retirement community, but located on the same land parcel, David also built and sold a 6,500 SF home.
In 2006, David ran for the State of Maine Governor position. David’s campaign made it to the ballot, however, he withdrew from the race.
As of 2020, David has grown a large following from his regular participation in the WLOB talk radio show.
David has five children; three are active in the real estate industry, one is a cryptocurrency savant, and the other is an expert in exotic wildlife species. David’s wife, Nancy Jones, runs the F.O. Bailey Antiquarians division.
